Historical background
Daaru Salaam University (DSU) was founded by a group of Somali Scholars in January 2013. The main office is in Mogadishu Somalia. The major purpose of the University is to cover the world class teaching and research. The University today combines impressive modern facilities and a dynamic approach to teaching and research with its proud heritage of service and achievement.
The DSU is standard basic which systematically provides students on site work-based learning; it involves cooperation between the university and the private/public sectors which allows students to combine the classroom knowledge and with industrial practice skills. The University inspires to prepare Somali youth for entrepreneurship capacity for future and gaining the dream jobs of their lifetime and at the end the private and public institutions will inherit quality and better service through the young professional output from DSU.
The University members have various background educations and worked with local and international organizations in the area of administration and capacity building for profit and nonprofit organizations and currently working in different institutions. The establishment of Daaru Salaam University comes as a response to the findings of the Somali graduate students from secondary schools that need to have a better place to prepare higher education for their better future and filling the job of years to come that need proven academic and necessary skills on the job place.

Our vision is to lead the higher education in Somalia.
Objectives
1- Give the necessary consideration in Preparing the young professional generation for gainful employment in the emerging markets and the country as whole.
2- Maintain a high level of both national and international academic standards and
motivate its students and lectures to the achievement of academic excellence by establishing modern resource centers, organizing information exchange networks, conducting research and publication in its areas of curriculum specialization, and organizing workshops and symposiums to enhance the individual’s choice of professional education.
3- Provide high quality professional education programs at different level.
4- Respond quickly, innovatively and soundly to the new educational and professional manpower the phenomenal needs of the Somali society by providing consultancy services to the private and public enterprises.
